“And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” Luke 1:17
Preparation is a necessary component of the Christian journey. Spiritual preparation is key to surviving the up’s and down’s that we encounter along that way and helps to keep us strong enough to endure the desert landscape that can infiltrate our lives.
Preparing a strong foundation can be an oasis in that desert that will refresh us when we need it and revitalize the energy necessary to keep running the race.
Are your foundations solid? A daily relationship with the Father is the only way to be sure. We need the daily manna available to us in order to combat the struggles that we inevitably face and to emerge victorious.
As John the Baptist prepared the hearts of the people to accept the coming Savior, so also do we need to prepare our hearts so that victory can be ours. Prayer and daily time with the Lord is an integral part of our life and will refresh us when we are thirsty.
