Listening to Jesus

I am new to A BEAUTIFUL MINISTRY and this is my first blog ever.  My blog is called “Listening to Jesus” for a reason.  I have a long-time prayer journal and have learned to listen to Jesus by writing out my prayers.   I had been praying for changes related to my job, a place of great stress and discord.  Nothing was happening, at least that is what I thought.   Jesus answered me with, “My silence is not idleness….”   Since then, my circumstances have changed for the better, I have found the joy and peace I sought.

My silence is not idleness…..

You pray faithfully for a hopeful outcome, seeking me earnestly without ceasing.  You have not heard from me or my reply was not what you expected.  Wanting to understand, you ask me about what I am doing.  I appear silent.  You pour your heart out to me continually.  I hear you.  I know what you are going through. I have not forsaken you.  When you pray, I listen intently; I have compassion for you and your circumstance.  My silence is not idleness.  Trust me even if you are unaware of my activities.  Praise, worship and glorify me with faithfulness.

Romans 5 1-5

We have been made right with God because of our faith. Now we have peace with him because of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through faith in Jesus we have received God’s grace. In that grace we stand. We are full of joy because we expect to share in God’s glory. And that’s not all. We are full of joy even when we suffer. We know that our suffering gives us the strength to go on. The strength to go on produces character. Character produces hope. And hope will never bring us shame. That’s because God’s love has been poured into our hearts. This happened through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

  1. Welcome Melinda 🙂
It can be difficult when you dont see the evidence of change. But I’ve found the most successful change is slow, barely a ripple in the waters before you. Yes it may seem still, but He is there ready to take your hand when you feel like your going under. Thank you for the reminder!

  2. Thank you for your response. God has answered me and life is good. I retired in May and now I have freedom. The passage came from my prayer journal last year. I like your comment about ripples in the water.
