“Promptings of the Holy Spirit”

“Promptings of the Holy Spirit”

An Invitation to Abundant Life
As I approached my next birthday I began to reflect on all that has been in my life. This brings to mind a very dear cousin who was also my first goddaughter. She was a gentle, sweet, fun, kind little soul who departed her earthly life much too soon.
I wish we would have had all this technology back in those days so I could share the wonderful pictures I have in my mind of her with you, but because I do not I will share the picture of her Stone where she has been laid to rest for almost 43 years.

Each of us has a God given purpose that God has given us alone to fulfill. I look back at my goddaughter’s life and by looking at her tombstone I come to realize she was even younger than I was recalling her to have been when she finished her earthly journey.
I believe God calls each of us to be grateful for the gifts He has bestowed uniquely on us. And even in the mist of our trials and struggles to embrace the gift of gratitude in doing so we diminish the power fear is able to have in our lives. We also begin to live out that amazing calling that is ours and only ours to live out.

Seek the Lord while he may be found,
call upon him while he is near;
Isaiah 55:6 (NRSVACE)

  Dearest Lord Jesus,

I thank and praise You for the life that my precious goddaughter Becky Mae lived. She was able to fulfill her journey at such a tender age. I will admit my Jesus that it hurts when I think of the years I have not been able to enjoy her if she were here and we were sharing Birthdays and cakes together. But Lord You took her and I realize she was a gift that I was able to enjoy for the years we did have together. Precious Jesus give my Becky Mae a special Birthday {{{Hug}}}. Amen.

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.  Isaiah 55:8-9 (NRSVACE)

Please consider sharing a comment on a prompting of the Holy Spirit in your own life with us here at A Beautiful Life it is such a gift when we grow together in the gifts of the Holy Spirit! And may our precious Lord Jesus shower you with the gifts that are yours alone. Amen.

  1. Many years ago I experienced 5 years of horrific abuse at the hands of a sick man. Afterwards, my joy was gone I was never again the same. For years I ran to the Father hoping to get my joy back. It has been 30 years, and one day I cried out to my Father, ” why am i thinking about the past so much, i don’t care about him. What do you want me to do, forgive him? “A man that beat me every night to where I had no strength to get up who had to carry me in his arms and lay me on the bed and violate me even more, who strangled me, who put a pillow over my face so no one would hear my screams, a man who injured my spine, and starved me. Would beat me and make me cry and because he did not want no one to hear me cry would beat me until he silenced me.” And God replied, “yes.” That evening i got down on my knees and did a forgiveness prayer. That was the first day on a beautiful journey to getting my joy back. Through many prayers the Lord has taken me to the other side of pain and grief to joy. He has restored, transformed and given me back my joy.

  2. Yes, His ways are not our ways. We never understand when a life is taken so young, but we can rejoice in the love that Christ has for each. My dad was taken far to young in my opinion, but God’s timing is perfect. Your prayer is lovely. ❤ Blessings to you, Marie. 🙂

  3. Holy Spirit is the Gift…He is Always with me…He is my Comforter, my Teacher and my Guide in all things! I received the gift of salvation at an early age but knew nothing of the Holy Spirit…so there was no fruit! If salvation was all there was, it would indeed be enough…but I have learned…there is so very much more…salvation is the beautiful beginning…true relationship through Jesus and walking in The Spirit with all the giftings He uniquely gives me for His purpose and His glory…is the journey I get to live out and share with others…and now praise the Lord…there is fruit! My prayer is…for all our brothers and sisters who know where they are going when they die but do not yet know where they are going while they still live…that their head knowledge of God would grow into heart knowledge for God…that their salvation would grow into a deep personal intimate relationship with the Father…and that they would be baptized in the Holy Spirit to receive and walk in Truth Victory and Freedom here as well as there…on earth as it is in Heaven In Jesus Name Amen!!!👑💞

  4. I too have lost loved ones at an early age…and while it somehow seems out of order and very difficult to understand…God in all His faithfulness brings comfort peace hope and gratitude for a life lived well…however short the season…what a blessed reunion we will all have!👑💞

  5. Such a sweet post with tender words that speak to our hearts when we lose loved ones too early. We wonder why, and yet, we trust in God that He is good. Marie, you have quite a way with speaking to the hearts of others about His love and goodness, even when sad things happen.

I had a dear friend Shawne who went home to be with the Lord as a very young age of 34. She so wanted to live. She was full of LIFE as best she could, but childhood diabetes and its complications sucked the life out of her. She lost her eyesight in her twenties. She lost use of her kidneys for over 4 years. She eventually fell into a coma and passed. But she shined for the Lord, and many who knew her came to know the Lord because of her faith. As I read your post, the Holy Spirit reminded me how He uses everything single thing in our lives, even the difficult and bad stuff that happens for good. I love Romans 8:28….
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Surely His ways are higher, exactly as you say. And He does work good through all these things, in spite of all the difficult things, in spite of us, for He is a good loving Father. Have a blessed day my friend.
