Gifts Without Bows

Can you imagine giving your one and only child into the hands of teenagers to raise? That is exactly what God did….. All for the LOVE of HIS creation to have a way to salvation through HIS only son, Jesus Christ.

As we enter in to this season of Christmas, I pray that we grasp what a gift God has given us in the birth, life, sacrificial death and resurrection of His one and only Son.

The act of giving is sacrificial by its very nature. The gifts with greatest and lasting meaning involve serving and giving of one self, whether of time or talent. Gift giving that doesn’t require wrapping paper and a bow. I pray that this year we each find a way to give of ourselves not only for those we love, but also for those we may not even know, the forgotten, down and out, the lonely….

Take a moment each morning asking God to show you ways and give you opportunities to serve and give of your love, yourself to others. Always, so that He gets the glory! He will never let you down, especially in your willingness to be HIs hands and feet. The blessings that you give will be a great blessing to you as well. Often times the heart that is changed is your own.

Romans 5: 15-17
“But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!”

Abundant Blessings,
Heidi
