“The privilege of God’s Presence!”

“The privilege of God’s Presence!”

“The privilege of God’s Presence!” by: Marie Bride

God does not want us to do life alone really resonates with me.

As an introvert I truly relate and understand the need to be alone and the feeling of being over stimulated and or feeling anxious.

I especially relate to having spent too many years of praying for God to turn me into someone other than who God was creating me to be and the specific work He wanted me to do for His kingdom here on earth.
As I spend time in His own eternal Presence, I am able to still my mind and heart, I focus on listening and hearing the Holy Spirit reveal bits of God’s will for me.

Allowing myself to do this work discovering how and where my life has come to be where I am. I am receiving God’s Blessing and affirmation. This gives me confirmation to be just who I am as I ask our loving God just exactly how I can become His master piece right where I am?

14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; that I know very well. Psalm 139:14 (NRSVACE)

**It is so important to seek my Lord’s will in everything I do.

As I keep my eyes focused on my Lord, for direction and for empowerment. My Lord is always with me He will never lead me to do something without equipping me for the task.

11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love towards those who fear him;

Psalm 103:11 (NRSVACE)

Spending time in my Lord’s Presence is a privilege my Lord desires to Bless me with. By doing so I am able to better understand my Lord’s will for my life. As my Lord shows me the path and I am able to enjoy my Lord’s Presence I begin to experience a delightful privilege, a fullness of joy, and I am able to comprehend more clearly that at my Lord’s right hand are pleasures forevermore.

The precepts of the Lord give joy to the heart.
The law of the LORD is perfect,
refreshing the soul;
The decree of the LORD is trustworthy,
giving wisdom to the simple. Psalm 19: 9

As my Lord shows me the path and I am able to enjoy my Lord’s Presence I begin to experience a delightful privilege, a fullness of joy, and I am more able to comprehend that at my Lord’s right hand are pleasures forevermore.

  1. I, too, am an introvert who prayed many times for God to change my personality. I’ve finally learned this is how he’s uniquely created me, and because of it I do enjoy the sweetness of his presence and the solitude involved in the life of a writer.

    • Thank You for your comment j.e. fernandez!
It truly Blesses my heart and soul to have you share this with me.
As I am still learning the importance of excepting who I am in the world
and being the the person God created me to be, I have to keep reminding
myself to just focus on who God created me to be and not who others want
      me to be.
The sweetness of God’s Presence really is my greatest reward Alleluia!
May God Bless You with His abundance and His sweet Presence! Amen.

  2. Hi marie! Love your heart for His presence.

My favorite scripture that I always return to is … Hebrews 11:6 “for it is impossible to please God without faith. For He who comes to God believes that He is and that He is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him”

I think this is my all time favorite because I always wanted to please God, deep down in my heart. And one day, I realized that the best way to please Him is not by doing things. But by believing that He is God and can do all things. It changed my perspective about my performance based activities and trying to please people. Instead, I desire to have faith in Him to believe that He can do my impossible.

  3. We seem to have much in common Marie! Introvert…asking for a change in me, I’ve prayed it all! Now I simply ask God to show me how to use how He has made me to glorify Him….May He bless us mightily in all that we do and all that we are!

  5. Thank you for the beautiful post, Marie! I’d like to share with you my favorite Bible verse since I was a child:

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
    (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Wish you a beautiful day, God bless!

  6. Marie – thank you for sharing your heart and how God has drawn you to Him. Truly, if we are to go to the deep places with Him, we are all to become “introverts” for He longs to meet each of us in the stillness of our relationship with Him. There, when He alone has our attention, then He can speak and we can hear.

“Be still and know that I am God” is among my favorite Scriptures because of what I just shared.

  7. Psalm 139 is a favorite of mine. I remember reading it for the first time many years ago. It spoke to me about God knowing who I am and that he has me in the palm of his hands. As I read it the tears fell as I realised that our God knows and cares about us. That my name is written in The Lambs book of life. It is a wonderful thing to be in his presence and just be still and listen to what he has to say. So much happens in our lives that we have to keep close to him. Maybe stop for a moment throughout our day to give him praise.

  8. Not only is this beutiful and true it is very empowering. My wish is for our youth to see this and understand the importance of it while they are young. Understanding that we are who we are for a reason. We may not understand it or even see it as a fault, but it is not we are who we are for a reason and we are all amazing in our own way. We are also always ready to handle what is given to us. I absolutely love this. ❤

  9. Oh, yes! I’m an introvert as well. Accepting who we are, as God created us to be, is a big step in living in the gifts God placed in us and living out God’s plan for us. Soaking in God’s presence is sooo soothing. Lovely post, Marie! 😀
