A Shepherds Call

Matthew 24:3-14

Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name claiming, I am the Christ, and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things Must happen but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

These days we all seem to be concerned and preoccupied with the signs of the coming of the end of the Age. In reality we really need to keep our eyes upon Jesus and know that these events must come to pass, just as Jesus had to die on the cross to cover our sins.  We might not understand it now but someday we will. The only way we can keep from being deceived is to Focus on Christ and stay in God’s word.

Luke 15:4-6

Suppose on of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he joyfully finds it he goes home and calls his friends and neighbors to rejoice.

Have faith that Jesus desires to find and keep all of his sheep. He will be looking for us until we are found and He will call us by Name. How wonderful is it to have a Savior such as this.

Have you ever noticed or even maybe heard that sheep do not flock to just any person. They only flock to the voice they know and trust.

John 20:15-16

Jesus is Speaking to Mary after he has risen. “Woman”, he said “why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking that he was the gardener, she said “Sir, If you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary”. She turned toward him and cried out Rabboni!” (which means teacher).

At first Jesus refers to Mary as “Woman”. Notice she does not recognize him but thinks he is the gardener. It isn’t until Jesus actually calls Mary by her name that she recognizes Him and cries out. As He shepherd his loved ones back then so he shepherds us till the end of the age.

We can rest in the knowledge that Jesus  will call our name. He is the ultimate comforter and protector.

I hope you find peace in these scriptures as I have. Let’s continue to look to Christ and pray for the lost sheep.

God Bless
