Resurrection Sunday Decor

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you,”
1 Peter 1:3-4

Being “one of those…seasonal decor geeks” I love to change the feel of my home with touches that ring in the new season! It makes old things new again, bringing an excitement and anticipation of each phase of the year.  Easter is the promise of spring showers and flowers, but most importantly a reminder and celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Alleluia ! Hosannas in the highest!

Simple parings are easy for anyone to accomplish, using everyday items mixed with a few pieces that speak of the season or celebration can make the ordinary special.

I have included several photos that give examples and ideas:

*Decorated eggs added on a bed of green beads inside of a glass jar.
*Display using a painting of The Last Supper (was my grandmother’s) on an easel with old books sprayed gold as a stand with an old silver tray filled with moss and candles on top; the Crown of thorns and ceramic cross hanging on a wreath stand and women at Calvary display created with twigs, twine and close pins covered in linen.
*Cross in a rock( gift from a friend) added to a plant with a real ostrich egg.
*Rustic cake stand with a ceramic bird; nest with eggs; antique tea pot and tea cup and saucer( handed down to me from my mom).

Unique mixture of old and new, yet keeping the same color scheme as my furnishings/surroundings makes everything blend and pleasing to the eye… Ready for the Easter Celebration and I didn’t spend a cent!

Abundant Blessings,
Happy Resurrection Sunday!

*Easter egg is symbolic of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Ancient symbol of new life.
