Tropical Breeze Banana Mango Yogurt Smoothie

February’s temperatures have been glacial, we’ve had too much snow, (thank God I don’t live in Boston!) and I’ve been dealing with a bad case of the winter doldrums. What better way to boost your spirits than go on a tropical vacation? Unfortunately I can’t do that, but drinking this creamy, delicious smoothie will transport you to a place of white sand beaches, warm breezes and sunshine! Sweetened with mango, mango yogurt and a frozen banana, this is so sweet and creamy it could be dessert! Filling and nutritious, this is a great way to start the day! Yum, yum and more yum!

Ingredients

1 medium frozen banana, cut in pieces

1 large ripe mango, peeled, flesh cut in pieces

1 6 oz. container 100-calorie Greek mango yogurt (I used Yoplait)

1 large handful chopped walnuts (1/3 cup) or 2 T. ground flaxseeds

4 oz. cold water

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in blender or NutriBullet, process until smooth.

Drink immediately! Enjoy!

When making this recipe, make sure your mango is ripe, but not too juicy. That will just make it too hard to peel and that wouldn’t be fun at all!

If you like, add chopped pineapple or top with 1 T. toasted coconut to make this even more tropical! No matter what you do, this will be uber delicious!

Until next time, wishing you all of God’s blessings, good health and happy eating! Stay warm!

Smiles and blessings,

Maria
