Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. Isaiah 40:26
Have you ever thought about creation? The act of making something from nothing?
God created everything with a word
Artists and generally creative people spend much of their days in some form of imitation of this incredible act. Being a generally creative person; I can relate. The desire to make something beautiful out of nothing is so strong that we can hardly help but put those “special touches on everything we do, from making beautiful dinners for our family, to giving creative gifts or arranging the furniture in our homes.
How we organize our living space says a lot about who we are and how we think.
I seem to have this overwhelming need every so often for change. Not being able to replace everything I own at such times (like who can!) I usually satisfy this desire by rearranging a room, or moving things around. I have to get creative with the things I have. Every now and then I will add something to the mix, but generally speaking, I tend to repurpose.
Not everyone has a natural knack for this.
If you do not think creatively as a natural part of who you are, you may find yourself stuck.
- Stuck with things as they are
- Stuck with what has been already created
- Stuck in a rut
You may be totally okay with that. But how do you make changes that you want to make, when change isn’t your gift?
Believe it or not, some creative skills are learned. Sure, there are those who seem to have a natural talent for it, but does that mean that you can’t develop some of those skills?

Creating a Deuteronomy Six Home
We are told in scripture to talk with our children about God when we get up each morning, when we are at home, when we go out, when we go to bed. That’s a lot of talking about God. Is there time for talking about anything else? It also tells us that we are to tie them to our hands and fasten them on our foreheads AND write them on the doorframes of the house as well as the gates. It looks like we should be surrounded by God’s Word as well. I am not making up these things. Deuteronomy 6:5-9 gives very clear instructions to the Jewish nation how they are to pass along the knowledge, wisdom, and love of God to their children. It is a great model for us today. So what does that look like?
This Workshop explores how you can incorporate those God conversations/God moments into your everyday.  Whether you have children or not this Workshop can help you create a Home that demonstrates and shares your Faith. It will give you ideas, resources, and tools that will open your thinking as to How to live out this command.
