The Second Greatest Commandment

 feb love your neighbor
Dear Heavenly Father, the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. Help us to be in prayer, so we are aware of opportunities to reach out to people who live in our neighborhoods. Perhaps a neighbor is lonely or ill, has recently lost a love one, or there may be a single parent with children in diverse difficulties who needs help with a task or errand. Make us aware of some neighbors we could witness to.
There are people we encounter daily in the grocery store, in our children’s school, in our work-place, or at the social club we frequent, who we’ve not thought of as our neighbor. They may need a listening ear, an encouraging word or an invitation to attend church with us.  Help us to remember them in prayer and offer our help when possible.
Finally, Lord, help us to forgive with your love the neighbors who have mistreated, taken advantage of, hated, cursed or robbed us.  May we repay them with a blessing, an act of kindness and continue to pray for them.
In Jesus name, Amen
